Just three releases in, Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi Records is already setting the tone for 2025. Launched earlier this year, the label has quickly carved a reputation for forward-thinking, character-driven music, following standouts from Capriati himself and Murphy’s Law. Now, attention shifts to Brazil, where emerging artist FLOWFAT delivers his standout three-track ‘Jacuzzi’ EP.
The title track, ‘Jacuzzi’, is a bubbling, peak-time roller that merges captivating vocals with sharp metallic drums. ‘Antidot’ dives deeper, built around hypnotic percussion and trippy vocal flickers, while ‘Red Flag’ closes the EP with playful energy and vibrant dancefloor intent.
For FLOWFAT, joining Metamorfosi was a moment that came naturally. “Before I approached Joseph directly, he was already playing some of my tracks that had reached him through promos,” he explains. “Then Andrea Fusco, his A&R, messaged me on Instagram asking for some tracks for Joseph to play. From there, the connection started to happen naturally.”
Landing the third release on Capriati’s new label was a milestone. “The first thing that came to my mind was, ‘One day I’m going to play at one of his parties,’” he says. “Since then, I’ve been working and studying a lot to make that moment happen.”
The EP’s sound is rooted in groove and simplicity. “All the tracks followed a pretty simple process — few channels, few effects — but everything interacts well,” he says. “‘Antidot’ was the first track chosen, then came ‘Jacuzzi’, and finally ‘Red Flag’ to close the EP with the right energy.”
That energy, he explains, comes from instinct. “I always prioritise groove and experiment with different elements until I find that balance that feels contagious,” he says. “I like to add subtle details, vocals, or hooks that create a connection on the dancefloor.”
Capriati’s ethos of authentic, forward-facing music clearly resonates with FLOWFAT. “It means a lot because he believed in and trusted my work,” he says. “His philosophy fits perfectly with what I’ve been doing, and it motivates me to keep evolving.”
Representing Brazil’s fast-growing dance scene on an international stage is another point of pride. “Brazil’s electronic scene is gaining more visibility and opening opportunities for local artists,” he says. “It’s very rewarding to be part of that movement.”
Next up, FLOWFAT has more milestones ahead. “I’ll be making my debut on Deeperfect with my EP ‘STALLING’, which includes a remix by Cristina Lazic, and I’ve got a release on Kaluki with my friend Goosey,” he reveals. “There are plenty of exciting projects happening, and I can’t wait to share them.”
With ‘Jacuzzi’, FLOWFAT captures the heart of Metamorfosi’s mission: tracks with soul, groove, and identity. A clear sign that Brazil’s new generation is ready to make global noise.
