Crossing Paths step into the spotlight with ‘Jūra (Rework)’, a striking reinterpretation of Lithuanian producer Nortas’s ambient original. Out now on all major platforms, the track reimagines the stillness of the original into something more propulsive and emotional, fusing progressive and melodic house with touches of dub techno and organic texture.
The Italian duo preserve the soul of Nortas’s work while steering it firmly toward the dance floor. The original’s gliding arpeggios and hazy atmosphere remain, but they are re-anchored by a deep, driving groove and layers of evolving percussion. It is a production that captures the essence of both worlds, balancing reflection with release.
A subtle tape wobble effect runs through the mix, giving the track its signature movement and warmth. The sound feels alive, slightly imperfect in the best way, as if breathing between each beat. Crossing Paths channel that hypnotic instability into something fluid and modern, letting melody and rhythm flow as one.
“Listening to Nortas’s work, we were fascinated by ‘Jūra’ and felt compelled to reinterpret it,” the duo explain. “We wanted to offer a more club-oriented version of this beautiful ambient track, preserving its soul while giving it new energy.” It is a statement that perfectly captures the spirit of the rework, respectful, forward-thinking and deeply musical.
The result is an immersive track that drifts between genres with ease. It feels cinematic in scope yet rooted in groove, designed for those moments on the dance floor where time feels suspended. The mix and master, handled by Francesco Milloni, brings a warm, tactile finish that enhances the track’s sense of depth and detail.
Crossing Paths is the project of Italian artists Raffaele Raffaman Cassese and Francesco Saverio Milloni. Their sound blends classical and dub influences with trance and ambient techno, creating music that feels emotional, organic and perfectly engineered for connection.
