Electronic music livestream and events platform Cercle has revealed it is facing significant financial difficulties, resulting in the cancellation of its planned Mexico festival and raising concerns about the future of one of dance music's most influential media brands.

The announcement comes after more than a decade of growth that transformed Cercle from a small independent project into a globally recognised platform known for hosting performances in extraordinary locations around the world. Founded with an initial investment of just €10,000, the company has since produced more than 200 events and broadcasts, attracting millions of viewers through its distinctive combination of electronic music and landmark settings.

According to the organisation, a combination of rising production costs, increasing taxes and shrinking margins has placed unsustainable pressure on the business. The team stated that it can no longer deliver the planned Mexico festival to the standards audiences have come to expect from the brand.

Over the years, Cercle has become synonymous with ambitious performances from artists including Carl Cox, Boris Brejcha, Ben Böhmer and Amelie Lens, staged at locations ranging from historic castles and cultural landmarks to remote natural landscapes.

Several artists publicly offered support, with producers including Chris Avantgarde and Ann Clue expressing willingness to assist future fundraising efforts aimed at helping the project navigate its current challenges.
