Bound To Divide Joins Magnetic Magazine Recordings With ‘Cycles’

Bound to Divide has made his debut on Magnetic Magazine Recordings with new single ‘Cycles’, available now across digital platforms.
The release marks the label’s 55th signing and introduces the Bournemouth based producer to its growing international community. Issued with original and extended mixes, ‘Cycles’ combines melodic detail with measured progression and a low end designed for the club.
Born in South Africa, Bound to Divide, real name Julian van Straten, began producing electronic music in 2015 after discovering artists including deadmau5 and Skrillex. His early background in punk rock and nu metal continues to inform a sound that draws from progressive house, melodic house, techno, trance and breakbeat.
He has since released music through Enhanced Colorize, Monstercat Silk, UV, Sekora and Anjunadeep Explorations, building a catalogue centred around melody, movement and detailed production.
Beyond his own releases, Bound to Divide has developed a wider presence through music education, production content and Basic Waves, his sample pack company.
‘Cycles’ opens a new relationship between the artist and Magnetic Magazine Recordings while placing his progressive sound within a catalogue shaped by atmosphere and musical identity.
