Aytiwan And Breyth Find Common Ground On Driving Afro House Cut ‘Mwezi’
Belgian producer Aytiwan has teamed up with Breyth for ‘Mwezi’, a new Afro House collaboration released through his own Afrosteria imprint.
The single brings together two producers whose respective approaches share a rhythmic foundation while leaving room for their individual identities. Aytiwan’s deeper, emotive production style meets Breyth’s percussion-led sensibility across a track built to steadily increase its grip rather than reveal everything at once.
‘Mwezi’ establishes that movement through a robust low-end and shuffling drums, with layers of synths gradually expanding around its central groove. Piano progressions and atmospheric textures bring a more melodic dimension, while vocal stabs and syncopated arpeggios add detail without pulling focus from the rhythm.
As the arrangement develops, pulsating leads and recurring bass motifs increase the pressure, creating a balance between the hypnotic qualities associated with Afro House and a more direct dancefloor drive.
The collaboration arrives as Aytiwan continues to move beyond his Belgian roots. His productions have become regular selections in Black Coffee’s DJ sets, with further support coming from Shimza and Roger Sanchez. Afrosteria has meanwhile given him a platform through which to develop his own interpretation of the genre.
Breyth brings a growing international footprint of his own. His work has accumulated more than 37 million streams, while his touring has taken him to the USA, Morocco and Germany.
Rather than forcing either producer away from familiar territory, ‘Mwezi’ finds its identity in the overlap between them. Breyth’s rhythmic instincts complement Aytiwan’s atmospheric approach, resulting in a collaboration where percussion, melody and low-end movement are given equal space to develop.
