Australian electronic producer Arky Waters has unveiled his latest single ‘Just’, continuing the rollout towards his highly anticipated debut album, arriving on July 2nd. Buy/Stream it here: https://bfan.link/arky-waters-just.

Following the momentum of previous releases including ‘Run It Up’ and ‘OMG’, the new track sees Waters deliberately stepping away from familiar club structures in favour of something far more fractured, intense and unpredictable. Rather than chasing polished dancefloor grooves, ‘Just’ embraces instability, tension and experimentation at almost every turn.

Built around irregular snare placements, distorted rhythmic shifts and intentionally off-grid vocal chops, the single captures a sense of controlled disorder that feels both immediate and unsettling. It is a bold creative pivot from an artist who has steadily gained recognition for his club-focused productions, signalling a growing interest in pushing beyond the boundaries of conventional electronic music.

Speaking about the track, Waters explained that the process centred around abandoning formula and instinctively following experimentation wherever it led.

“I wanted to make an experimental track for the album. Something that felt intense and chaotic. I was just throwing snares in random places and chopping vocals up out of time.”

“I feel like a lot of the time in electronic music you can feel tempted to make things really formulaic and groovy and I wanted to break out of that. It's definitely a direction I'll be running with moving forward.”

That willingness to disrupt expectation sits at the core of ‘Just’. While traces of UK-inspired club music still remain embedded within the production, the track feels less concerned with functionality and more focused on atmosphere, emotion and impact. Moments of rhythmic collapse quickly rebuild into dense percussive movement, creating a listening experience that constantly shifts beneath itself.

Previous releases have seen Waters compared to artists such as Bicep and Overmono, largely due to his blend of breakbeat textures, industrial weight and emotionally driven electronic production. With ‘Just’, however, he moves further away from comparison and closer towards establishing a distinct sonic identity of his own.

As anticipation continues building around the forthcoming debut album, ‘Just’ arrives as one of Waters’ most uncompromising releases to date, hinting at a project that may prioritise experimentation and unpredictability just as much as club functionality.
