Australian producer and DJ 1tbsp returns with his new single ‘Soulseek’, a collaboration with Colombian-American artist Soltera and the first taste of his upcoming album. Written across Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Sydney, the track is built in two distinct pulses: an intimate, tension-filled first half that erupts into bubbly, left-field prog-tech chaos inspired by underground parties and warehouse raves. Soltera’s punk-infused, synth-driven vocals merge with 1tbsp’s club sensibility, creating a track that is both unpredictable and emotionally charged. The result is kinetic, immersive, and designed to move both mind and body.
“I made the instrumental on a flight from Mexico City to Los Angeles ahead of a recording night with Soltera,” 1tbsp explains. “We had the first half down in an hour. Back in Sydney, I developed the second half inspired by underground community parties and a bubbly, left-field prog-tech vibe. ‘Soulseek’ feels like a cleanse or a rebirth and previews the multi-genre album I’ve been making.”
Soltera adds: “‘Soulseek’ is about becoming one, merging, embodying masculine and feminine.”
The single coincides with 1tbsp’s North American ‘bubble tour’, with Soltera joining him as main support. Her next project will also be released on 1tbsp’s indie label, dottidot.
‘Soulseek’ is now available to stream and watch now across multiple platforms, offering a glimpse into 1tbsp’s bold, genre-defying sound.
