Based in Los Angeles, America, Sabo is an influential pioneer of organic house, but he has eclectic tastes that also incorporate genres ranging from progressive house to deep tech. He is known internationally for his storytelling DJ sets that enrapture dancefloors, and his productions embrace his innate knowledge of how to captivate mind, body, and soul. Sol Selectas is a leading outlet for organic house and its associated genres, and it’s where Sabo releases the majority of his own music, alongside productions by others such as Hraach, Armen Miran, Namito, Be Svendsen, German Brigante, and many others. On remix duty, FNX Omar is a Moroccan artist from Casablanca, and he is an Afro house producer that combines traditional rhythms and percussion from Morocco with modern electronic sounds. Hailing from the North of England, he's rapidly gaining traction with a sound that blends old-school influences with forward-thinking production. With releases on Hot Creations, Elrow, and Experts Only, as well as high-profile DJ sets across Europe and South America, 2025 is shaping up to be his biggest year yet. We caught up with James to talk about his breakthrough year, upcoming releases, and the future of his music. "A Year Full of Pinch-Me Moments" 2024 saw James release on major labels and perform internationally. Reflecting on his journey, he says, “I'm incredibly grateful for how 2024 went - a year full of pinch-me moments that I'd worked towards since day one. One of the best feelings as an artist is to experience the upside of all the hard work that has been put in prior - travelling around the country and flying abroad to share your music internationally. It’s special when it’s actually you packing your bags, knowing there are people waiting there to see you.” It was also a year of artistic growth. “I really felt like I levelled up my production, and thankfully that was mirrored in the support I received from a plethora of artists I've always looked up to. Now it’s time to see what 2025 brings!” New Music on Bandidos, Revival New York & NAIMA James has lined up some serious label releases for 2025. “First up is the La Ocasa EP with my good friend Ky William on Rafa Barrios’ Bandidos imprint. These tracks have been heavily supported by Marco Carola, Michael Bibi & Dennis Cruz, and it’s amazing to see them doing damage at clubs like DC10, Pacha & Destino.” On his upcoming releases with Revival New York and NAIMA, James is keeping some details under wraps. “I'll be announcing more soon across my socials. My Revival release has picked up a lot of club support from Jamie Jones, Franky Rizardo & Sidney Charles, whilst Blackchild loved the other track so much that he signed it for his NAIMA label. These feel like some of my freshest records to date, so fingers crossed everyone loves them too!” The Unexpected Success of Baila Le Digo One of James’ biggest surprises in 2024 was the runaway success of Baila Le Digo, which racked up over 1.2 million streams and hit the Beatport charts. “Honestly, I don't think either me or Ky expected it to perform quite as well as it did. When I previewed it on socials, it didn’t stand out as a track people were overly hyped for. Few story likes, few fire emojis, but nothing that would signal a million-plus streamer.” This track proved to James that “you simply never know.” The record took off thanks to support from Calussa, Malone, and Dennis Cruz. “I think it connected with people because it’s simply a party tune - it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it always gets the dancefloor moving. Hopefully La Ocasa will follow in its footsteps!” Ibiza Debut and Closing KOKO London Playing at Eden and Hï in Ibiza and supporting John Summit at KOKO London were major milestones. “Ibiza is the mecca of dance music, so making my debut on the island felt incredibly special. The Eden show was for ABODE & Kaluki, and I closed the night with my best mates there – the same lads who saw me play to four people in a basement years ago.” His Hï Ibiza set came as a last-minute surprise. “I woke up on the Monday and was invited to play the Wild Corner that very night - one of the most iconic spots in dance music.” KOKO was another unexpected opportunity. “We were planning to go down and meet the crew after releasing on Experts Only, then the 4-5am slot became available and John’s management asked if I wanted to play. A night I’ll never forget.” Growing an Audience and Looking Ahead James saw a massive 529% increase in listeners on Spotify in 2024. “I think Baila Le Digo played a huge part, as well as signing to labels like Experts Only and Hellbent. Those records introduced me to new audiences, especially in North and South America. Some people will then deep-dive into your page and discover your older releases – that’s what I do whenever I find a new artist.” For 2025, the focus is simple: more music. “I’m adamant on keeping the flow going - new music every month and ensuring I keep it up all year round. Being an artist in 2025 is like a jigsaw puzzle, but releasing music you’re proud of is always the centrepiece. I go in with an open mind, test the waters with my opening tunes, assess the room, and make selections accordingly to ensure people have a great night.” Choosing the Right Labels James has worked with labels like Experts Only, Hellbent, and Nothing Else Matters. What does he look for when signing music? “The power of social media has put a lot of control in artists’ hands, but there’s still value in the ‘seal of approval’ from a label. Signing with Jamie Jones’ labels made people take me more seriously and opened doors that were closed before.” Passion is key. “A lot of labels are data-driven, and I get it - it’s a business. Australian-Iranian producer, DJ, and fantasy author Naz is crafting a world where music, storytelling, and visuals collide. Her latest track, ‘Nafas’, out March 12th on New Eden Records, is more than just a melodic techno cut—it’s the next chapter in a growing multimedia project. For Naz, each release isn’t just a song but part of a larger narrative. Every track she drops expands the lore of New Eden, an evolving fantasy world told through music, written chapters, and visual storytelling. “Gaming and VR are definitely something we will be doing in the future!” she says, hinting at her ambitions beyond the club circuit. “I really wanted to create a fantasy world that blends different mediums and allows listeners and readers to fully immerse themselves in it.” The Sound of a Racing Heartbeat At the core of ‘Nafas’ is the thrill of anticipation. The title, meaning ‘Breathe’ in Farsi, reflects the rush of emotions that come with excitement and intensity. “Nafas was made with a journey in mind,” Naz explains. “This track really fits with the theme of when things feel rushed and intense and a little scary, and everything is building up ready to explode, so you just need to take a moment to 'just breathe'.” That theme of tension and release is built into the music itself. “The breakdown and the drop really encapsulate this feeling. It's the build-up and suspense with the release at the drop, introduced by the words 'just breathe’.” From LA to London: A Global Influence Naz’s journey as an artist has taken her from Los Angeles to New York to London, and each city has left a mark on her music. “Each city has its own intricacies, memories, friends, relationships, moments... and these all come together to build and form my life experience, which then in turn influences my music making!” Her nomadic lifestyle hasn’t stopped her from making waves in the electronic scene. She’s shared stages with Tale Of Us, CamelPhat, Above & Beyond, and Qrion, and performed at some of the world’s most renowned venues and festivals, including Brooklyn Mirage, Drumsheds, The Gorge, Piknic Electronik, and Creamfields. “Creamfields was the very first festival I had ever played and been booked for,” she recalls. “EDC Las Vegas was also super special. Both festivals were just such an out-of-this-world experience, and the fact that I not only got to play but got to see some of my favourite DJs as well was amazing!” A Fusion of Cultures and Creativity Naz’s Iranian heritage plays an important role in shaping her approach to music. “There’s such rich culture and history in Iran, and I feel blessed to come from that and to have learnt all about it,” she says. “Music is really special and full of soul and life, and inside people’s homes, it’s always centred around bringing people together. That’s ultimately what I want to do—to bring people together through music.” Her ability to connect different art forms is what makes New Eden such a unique project. It’s not just a music label—it’s a growing world, merging the realms of fantasy literature, gaming, and electronic music. “I think it’s expanding the reach and allowing different types of corners of the digital landscape to mesh together,” she says. “Lovers of gaming can meet with lovers of raves and lovers of fantasy, broadening our scope of audience and inclusivity.” What’s Next for Naz? Naz isn’t slowing down anytime soon. With ‘Nafas’ marking a major step in the New Eden journey, she’s already looking ahead. “The first Book of New Eden is currently being written, and my aim is to have the first draft done by the end of 2025,” she reveals. “More new music this year, a couple of collaborations, and hopefully more live shows in the UK/EU market now that I am based here!” As Naz continues to build New Eden, she’s offering a glimpse into the future of electronic music—one where sound and storytelling are inseparable. The industry’s mental health challenges are well documented, and BMC is taking an active role in addressing key issues like burnout, neurodiversity, addiction, and hearing protection. Skiddle has been announced as the headline sponsor of the first-ever ‘Health & Wellbeing Theatre,’ which will host discussions on mental health, spiking awareness, and the pressures of motherhood while touring.
