Milam lands on Sol Selectas with, Al Gaib, which is an organic house release combining melodic synths and techy percussion.
Leading the way within the Asian organic house scene, Milam lives in Hong Kong, and he is making his Sol Selectas debut after releasing music on other noteworthy record labels such as • kosa •.
Nodes Rec is an imprint that Milam co-founded, and along with his own music, it’s been shining a spotlight on talented artists from the Asian scene.
Akira Arasawa is also an Asian artist based in Japan, and his music switches between organic house and indie dance. He uses upbeat bass to fill his tracks with joyous energy from the ground upwards, and his remix of the title track is a delightful reinterpretation.
“Mt Fuji Is a Pyramid” has trippy percussion textures that weave between Middle Eastern string pads, until cascading melodies and a medley of harmonising vocals take the track into transcendence.
Akira Arasawa’s remix of “Mt Fuji Is a Pyramid” replaces the bassline, and he makes good use of some traditional Asian strings, which complement the original’s nomadic vibe.
“Al Gaib” is the second original track; it has sweeping pads and spiralling synths stretched over a percussive skeleton that holds the trippy groove steady.
