Few names carry the weight of Teddy Douglas in house music. As a founding member of the legendary Basement Boys and one of the true pioneers of soulful, vocal-led house, his influence stretches from the golden era of US house right through to today’s global scene. With his unmistakable blend of funk, soul and gospel energy, he has helped shape the sound of artists like Ultra Naté, Crystal Waters and Jasper Street Company, while his own productions continue to inspire generations of DJs and producers.
His latest project, ‘Don’t Turn Your Back On Me’ featuring Pauline Taylor, gets a new remix package on Nervous Records. Featuring reworks from Tedd Patterson, Shaka and Danny Krivit, the release bridges eras, uniting classic house foundations with fresh perspectives for today’s floors.
To celebrate, Teddy shares the tracks that are lighting up his sets and playlists right now. From Ten City’s timeless soul to Karizma’s driving grooves and Ron Trent’s stunning remix of ‘Dreams a Dream’, this selection captures everything that defines his sound: uplifting, heartfelt and made for the dancefloor.
