Meet the Brazilian label Sunset Disco, which has conquered even Carl Cox

Who doesn't like sunsets? Seaside parties, heat, feet in the sand, the sound of the waves, friends gathered... a perfect setting for many. This tropical climate has always been present in the productions of Softmal (Clayton) and LLølita (Bianca), Brazilian artists who in 2017 felt the need to create their own label to release songs with that summer vibe.

Then, in 2018, Sunset Disco appeared, debuting in January with the single “Allright”, by Softmal himself. The proposal was very clear right at the beginning, since the track carries this upbeat atmosphere, it is light, danceable and pleasant to listen to.

Before completing a year of life, the label has already seen its track "Whoomp Just A Little", by Softmal, enter the Top 100 of Beatport, reaching position #54 on the Funky House chart. In 2020, after being impressed by the label's releases, another artist joined the team, Lucenamusic, adding even more strength from then on.

Since then, more than 40 tracks have entered different Beatport charts, most notably "Sing It To Me", which reached #3 on Hype House in 2021 and ended up on the compilation Stardust Vol. 4, by the renowned duo Milk & Sugar, and "Bring Us Back", which reached #23 on Funky House, making the label reach #1 as the best seller on Beatport's Hype House Labels chart.

Despite these numbers, the most recent achievement has nothing to do with them. This is because there is nothing more special than seeing Carl Cox, one of the icons of the global electronic scene, play a track from the label. “Mykonos”, which was released as recently as May, appeared on Cox's set during her Brighton Music Conference performance, straight from the iconic Brighton i360.
