Hot Picks: Corren Cavini Serves Up Some Melodic Delights

Corren Cavini

Globally renowned for applying his unique harmonic touch to the house and techno spaces, Dutch producer Corren Cavini recently made his Purified Records debut with his diverse two-track 'Melancholy Party' EP.

Born in Haarlem, The Netherlands, Corren Cavini (Corné Kamminga) took his first musical steps at a young age when he began to play the guitar. Sparking an ever-growing passion, he found a love for collecting music, and was soon led to the world of DJing. After making his club debut at fifteen years old, it wasn’t long before he started experimenting with the production side of things. Exposed to the Netherlands rich house and techno scene, he cultivated his signature sound under the alias Corren Cavini.

Over the years, his sound has been shaped by the constant presence of emotion, harmonic tension and warmth, which helped put him on the map as one of the most prominent talents in his genre. Incorporating inspiration from modern art and cinema, he strives to tell stories that are close to his heart through his craft. His progressive ethos sets him apart with tracks and sets that take a vibrant approach to house and techno, while remaining true to his underground roots. Chartering releases on prestigious imprints such as DAYS like NIGHTS and This Never Happened, he also gains support from A-list acts including Eelke Kleijn, Lane 8, Tinlicker and more.

To celebrate his latest release, we asked Corren to supply us with his very own Hot Picks selection:

Corren Cavini & Thysma - Frostbite

It’s pretty rare to collaborate with another producer and have a real connection, but Thysma is definitely somebody I have that with. We always have a lot of fun making music together and this one really showcases that! Fun track with weird sounds, in the best way.

Glowal - Heal Your Scars

I initially knew Glowal mainly for their energetic grooves, but I really like the deeper side of their sound that they have been showing lately.

Enamour - Center Cannot Hold (Overdrive mix)

This one has been in almost all of my sets since I got my hands on it. Very strong dancefloor energy, combined with uplifting synths.

andhim - Dance Again

As the title suggests: a track that makes everybody move. It caught my attention with the funky grooves, but the way it builds up is also very atmospheric.

Mind Against, Sideral - Criseside

I like the way this keeps building with that edgy vocal and the strong synth stabs.

NTO - Les Orangers

Have been a fan for a very long time, and this one that recently came out is probably my new favorite of NTO. Few artists combine energy and deep harmonies so perfectly!

ATB - Sunburn

Recently rediscovered this classic from my childhood years and have been absolutely loving it since that moment.

Estiva - Via Infinita

Rumbling bass, hypnotic chords, big build ups, this track has it all. Great track for any moment in the club!

Leaving Laurel - The Family We Find

One of the most beautiful examples of emotions translated into music I have heard in a long time. I would encourage anybody to support the fundraiser for the Yellow Tulip Project that Gordon and the label have started.

Aalson - With Each Other

Beautiful piece of ambient music, perfect to start a festival day.
