CHLOÉ Returns To The Dancefloor With New Three-Track Release ‘Drifter’

French electronic artist CHLOÉ returns with ‘Drifter’, a three-track release that reconnects with the darker, more hypnotic side of her club-focused identity while continuing to blur the boundaries between electronic music and contemporary art.
Created during an especially intense period of DJing, the release arrives as a reflection of CHLOÉ’s enduring relationship with the dancefloor. Across its three tracks, she explores tension, melancholy, movement and emotional ambiguity through a sound that feels simultaneously intimate and expansive.
The title track, ‘Drifter’, unfolds across nine immersive minutes, gradually building through looping basslines and hypnotic repetition before drifting into unexpected territory. A wandering drone emerges from the groove, stretching into a strikingly emotional centrepiece that gives the track its distinctive character.
Elsewhere, ‘Once’ takes a more introspective approach. Fragments of CHLOÉ’s own voice float through the arrangement like distant memories, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that never fully reveals itself. Anchored by a steady pulse underneath, the track balances vulnerability and mystery in equal measure.

Closing cut ‘Heights’ shifts towards the fractured rhythmic experimentation of early IDM. Intricately programmed beats, delicate melodic loops and precise emotional detail evoke influences associated with artists such as Autechre and The Black Dog while remaining firmly rooted in CHLOÉ’s own sonic language.
The release arrives during another busy chapter for the multidisciplinary artist, who recently composed original music for the UNESCO and L'Oréal Foundation Women In Science ceremony in Paris. Looking ahead, she is also preparing a live performance at Olympia Hall in March 2027 alongside DJ appearances at venues including Lion and Lamb, Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson.
More than two decades into her career, CHLOÉ continues to occupy a unique position between club culture and the arts, refusing easy categorisation while remaining one of electronic music’s most distinctive creative voices.
